Continuation of Director’s Comments

Five years on, KASH has established itself as a respectable player in the civil society movement in Kenya. We actually are a focal point for CSW- police matters. Having reached close to 1,000 CSWs and over 150 police officers, we believe that the society in Western Kenya, and Kisumu in particular, have been greatly enriched by us.

Our new NGO status, offers us even better opportunities to make further contributions to the society. Of particular importance is that we intend to widen our focus over a much wider area ie in the entire Western Kenya region.

This future will only work out as envisaged with continued and new support from partners who share our ideals about our target groups marginalized people. So far, Amref-Maanisha and Janivo Foundation have been our two outstanding partners in this regard. We will forever be indebted to them for standing with us up to now. We look forward to financial and other kinds of support - and partnership - with these and other donors.

There have been several other key players who have contributed a great deal to our success. First is, Triza Achieng, who gave her all efforts to ensure that CSWs in our target area felt loved and respected. Her predecessor, Hellen Aketch, brought on board new zeal and enthusiasm which has so far widened our out reach amongst CSWs.

We expect even better results from Hellen in mobilizing the girls and directing them for the relevant services and others, whose contributions have been equally significant include David, Jacky, Irene, Duncan, Susan and many more.

I now wish to invite you to browse through our website. We hope to update this site as regularly as possible so that the going-ons at KASH can remain present in the public domain.

I have little doubt that for KASH, the sky will be lower than the limit!

Welcome.
