OUR
ACTIVITIES
We
have encourage the formation of groups amongst our members based on
either where they go to work or where they live. The groups are self
sustaining and independent with their own officials. We have supported
them to acquire formal registrations and even to open bank accounts.
We have given them support in acquiring formal registration and opening
of bank accounts.

issues.
- HIV/AIDS

- LIFE
SKILLS IMPARTING FORUMS
Are
workshops where life-skills issues (negotiations skills, dealing with
violence, etc ) are addressed
These
are sessions with gatekeepers (bar owners/managers, watchmen, bouncers,
policemen) are invited and are asked to freely share their experiences
with our target audience. They are usually invited to participate
in order to reinforce and strengthen our objective of reducing infections
amongst vulnerable groups.
These
are bonding and team building sessions where vulnerable people are
given a chance to come together and know each other and even share
and learn skills from each other about the best practices in their
work.
We
have participated in events such as World AIDS Day (WAD) and International
Women’s Day (IWD) activities organized jointly by members of
the Civil Society Movement in Kisumu. This enables us destigmatize
the vulnerable groups amongst the wider community.
Because
of our close contacts and associations with vulnerable people, we
are likely to identify their needs that can be addressed by other
better-endowed organizations. We therefore play a very critical role
of referring them for various crucial services e.g. treatment for
STIs, Enjoinment into ARV treatment programs etc.
